Paul Rochford is a Junior history major in the College with a focus in Eastern Europe and Russia. On Georgetown's campus, Paul is involved in music and theater, playing in the university orchestra, and working on music for productions with both the student theatre groups and the Department of Performing Arts. He also enjoys running and is a member of the Georgetown triathlon club team. This semester he will be studying abroad to the Balkan countries to study in the peace and conflict studies program with the the School of International Training (SIT). He will be staying in Belgrade, Serbia for the first ten weeks taking classes at the University in Belgrade, then traveling to Bosnia to conduct an independent research project on a topic related to developments in the country since the end of the conflicts of the 1990s. He is excited to explore the Balkan region, try local cuisine and have the chance to become intimately familiar with the local culture while living with a host family during the ten week period in Belgrade.
